AXIM door closer and floor spring repairs
AXIM door closers, transom closers and floor springs are fitted to many aluminium shopfronts, office entrances and internal commercial doors. We repair, adjust and replace AXIM closing devices for commercial customers across Yorkshire from our base in Leeds.
Common problems with closers and floor springs
- The door slams, or closes too slowly to latch.
- The door no longer latches or locks reliably.
- Oil leaking from the closer body or from the floor spring cover plate.
- The door has dropped, drags on the floor or catches the frame, often from a worn pivot or a failed floor spring.
- No cushioning when the door is pushed open hard, so it hits the wall or frame.
Adjust, repair or replace?
Many faults are cured by adjusting the closing speed, latching speed and backcheck. A closer or floor spring that is leaking oil or has lost its spring strength normally has to be replaced. Our engineer will explain which applies and confirm the cost before any work starts.
Closers on fire doors
On a fire door the closer must close and latch the door fully on its own. After any adjustment or replacement we check that it does. A fire door may only be held open by an approved device, such as an electromagnetic hold-open linked to the fire alarm, never by a wedge or hook.
